How to use RadioPublic’s embed code on your Wordpress site

You’ve got something to say about podcasts and you want your readers to hear the shows for themselves. RadioPublic’s user-friendly embed player has you covered. Just look at (or better yet, listen to) this beauty:

OK, great — but how do you get these show and episode embeds into your WordPress posts (or pages)? It’s a pretty straightforward copy-and-paste job, but if you’ve never added raw HTML code into WordPress before, here are the step-by-step instructions:

Psst… want to embed podcasts on a different platform? Here are the instructions for Medium, Squarespace, and all other publishing platforms.

1 First, if you haven’t already done so, get the embed player code for the show or episode you want to add to your post.

The embed code will look like this.

2 Next, go to your Wordpress editing screen and switch from the “Visual” tab to the “Text” tab.

By default, the “Visual” tab is selected. Click on the “Text” tab…
…and now you’re in the right place.

3 Scroll down until you find the spot where you’d like to insert the embed player.

(If you find this challenging — perhaps because your page contains a lot of other HTML code, or because it’s a long article, you can always switch back to “Visual” view and add a string of characters like “%%%%%%%%%%%” that will be easy to spot. Then switch back to “Text” again and find your spot.)

Aha — there’s my spot.

4 Paste the embed code. It’ll look something like this:

5 Once you’re finished editing your post (or page), click “Publish” or “Update,” and you’re good to go.

Voila! An embedded podcast. You did it!

(P.S. You can switch back to “Visual” view anytime.)

That’s it! You’re now a podcast embedding wizard. Pretty sure I can hear your readers applauding from here.

I mean, I assume Morgan Freeman reads your stuff.
